I gain so much inspiration from my clients each and every day. With their permission, I’m passing along some of their best practices for coping (even thriving) during these challenging times.

Limit Distractions. Squirrel! OK, I’ll start: I’m willing to admit that I must set my smartphone in another room when I need to focus on a writing or deep-thinking task. I’d like to think that I have more discipline, but when it comes to certain tasks (don’t get me started on managing my monthly accounting!), I just don’t. Instead of beating myself up about it, I experiment with little hacks that help me succeed. So if I need to complete a writing project, I break it down into 60-minute segments, set my phone in the other room, and promise myself that I’ll limit all other distractions. The best part: at the end of the hour, I’ll ‘reward’ myself with 5 minutes with my phone mindlessly scrolling through Twitter. What little hacks have you found to help you concentrate and be more productive?
